WELCOME

Dear District 6690 Rotarians,

I am so proud of the accomplishments of the Rotary clubs of District 6690 this year. Through your leadership and dedication, our District has accomplished much in Ohio and around the world. We should meet to share and celebrate our successes.

I invite you to the Rotary District 6690 Annual Conference, "Bridges To Service".

The conference is a four day event running Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, May 17 and being held in Lancaster. You are welcomed to attend all four days or as many as your schedule will allow. We have planned a number of seminars on the powerful impact Rotary has had over the past year. The conference also includes an evening of good food and entertainment, a formal dinner, golf and other festivities. Most importantly, the conference is the best opportunity to renew acquaintances or meet and befriend your fellow District 6690 Rotarians.

And bring the family! For your spouse or partner, we have planned tours of Fairfield County's historic parks and covered bridges as well as other attractions of Lancaster. For the kids, we have fun and adult-supervised activities, so you can enjoy yourself and they can enjoy themselves.

Complete information about the conference is available on this page. An online registration form is here. If you prefer to register through the mail, here are the print forms to use.

To many of us, membership in Rotary is an important bridge to serving mankind. I am proud to have crossed 2008-2009 as your District Governor and invite you to a weekend of celebration, education and fellowship.

Tom Kokensparger
District Governor 2008-2009

Fairfield County Historical Parks Bus Tour

Fairfield County Historical Parks is Ohio’s Most Unique Park System.

Rock Mill is Ohio's oldest and largest gristmill on the upper falls of the Hocking River. It stands six stories high and is buried two stories below grade level. The mill is powered by a 26 ft. overshot water wheel with a mill race cut through solid sandstone more than 30 ft. long.

Fairfield County Historical Parks encompasses a number of authentic covered bridges; canals and locks; a one-of-a-kind, prehistoric Indian mound; Zane’s Trace; and thousands of species of plants and animals in their habitats.

The bus tour is from 10:00am to 4:00pm and starts at Crossroads Center. The tour will visit Rock Mill, Stone Wall Cemetery, covered bridges and other points of interest. Our guide will be David Fey, Director of Fairfield County Historical Parks. A boxed lunch will be served on the tour. Registration is limited to seventeen.
